I'd recommend installing a clean copy of VuFind on the new server (to get all the dependencies in place), then simply overwrite the new VuFind directory with the contents of your customized VuFind directory on the old server. As long as the new server uses the same file paths and passwords as the old server, transferring the files should be enough to move all of your customizations over. You'll even get the whole Solr index! The only piece that will require a bit of offline time is transferring the MySQL database -- you'll probably want to take VuFind offline on the old server, dump the database, load it onto the new server, then bring VuFind online on the new server... otherwise you might run the risk of the database getting out of sync. - Demian > -----Original Message----- > From: Karla Smith [mailto:sm...@wi...] > Sent: Monday, August 27, 2012 11:06 AM > To: vuf...@li... > Subject: [VuFind-Tech] Rebuilding VuFind with SVN > > Hi, > So, assuming we get our 64-bit Ubuntu 12 server up and running, and Subversion > properly installed (which will probably engender a new set of questions), > > And, given that we don't want to take our current VuFind instance down until > the new one is ready... > > What is the best way to get our now highly customized VuFind onto our new > server? > > Thanks, > --Karla > Karla Smith, Automation Librarian > Winnefox Library System > Oshkosh, WI 54901 > sm...@wi... > ~"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
