Hi Karla, I suspect this may have some thing to do with your search specs tweaks. You many be experiencing the dismax/stopword gotcha. http://bibwild.wordpress.com/2010/04/14/solr-stop-wordsdismax-gotcha/ You could try reverting to the original search specs to see if the problem goes away, then slowly adding back your changes to narrow down what caused the problem.
