Hi Lori, I wouldn't recommend using the MultiDriver as it is very much out of date now and wouldn't really be compatible with VuFind 1.3. I would take Ere up on his offer as he is working closer to the 1.3 code but I'm happy to share everything I have and support you where I can. We are currently running VuFind RC 2 and instead of merging marc records, we are pre-pending a code that indicates the institution to the front of the 001 field of each record, and have modified the VuFind Voyager drivers to act appropriately based upon the pre-pended code. NOW, however, I am migrating to VuFind 1.3 and we want to merge records across the 3 institutions. I've found some info outlined on vufind-general about this, but nothing specific enough for me to be able to get started. Some questions that I think will help me get going: 1. Is Luke O'Sullivan's MultiDriver the correct solution for us, given that we have 3 databases all on the same ILS type? From what I've read it seems that it would do the job for us, I just want to be sure we are going with the simplest available solution for our needs. (what we need: To query the correct OPAC for item info based upon the item's holding libraries. To offer different patron authentication methods for each institution. To connect to the correct institution's OPAC for patron account info/holds/requests.) 2. Is the MultiDriver up to date with VuFind 1.3 code? If not, what is the latest VuFind version you recommend we use with it? 3. Where/how can I actually get my hands on the MultiDriver? 4. Can anyone provide samples of the scripts you use to merge marc records across institutions? I've read Luke's blog post on 3-in-1 merging, and I get the concepts. This is my first experience with merging marc records, however, and the prospect of building this from scratch is daunting. Thanks for any guidance you can provide!
