Hi, I now see this in the file /usr/local/vufind/messages.log: root@candleinthewind:/usr/local/vufind# cat messages.log Mar 14 16:27:48 vufind [error] [pear_error: message="Connection refused" code=11 1 mode=callback callback=handlePEARError prefix="" info=""] Mar 14 16:27:49 vufind [error] [pear_error: message="Connection refused" code=11 1 mode=callback callback=handlePEARError prefix="" info=""] Mar 14 16:27:49 vufind [error] [pear_error: message="Connection refused" code=11 1 mode=callback callback=handlePEARError prefix="" info=""] And here is the output of the command "JETTY_CONSOLE=/tmp/jetty.log ./vufind.sh start": root@candleinthewind:/tmp# cat jetty.log STARTED VuFind Wed Mar 14 16:54:04 GMT 2012 Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap So, do I need to increase the amount of RAM available on this Ubuntu server? How would I do that? Cc: sol...@go... Subject: RE: Record import "killed"? Regarding the import killed message, I am copying the solrmarc-tech mailing list, since perhaps someone there will have additional suggestions beyond what Luke already provided. Regarding the "connection refused" message, when you run "./vufind.sh start", what do you see? You can capture the messages to a file by using the JETTY_CONSOLE variable, i.e.: JETTY_CONSOLE=/tmp/jetty.log ./vufind.sh start Feel free to share a log if you see strange messages and need help troubleshooting. Regarding the log file permissions, you can either change the ownership of the file to match your Apache user (usually www-data or daemon, depending on your Linux flavor), or you can make the file world-writable: chmod 777 /usr/local/vufind/messages.log File ownership is probably the more secure solution, but during your testing interval it shouldn't make much difference. - Demian > -----Original Message----- > From: Alex Birchall [mailto:A.B...@md...] > Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2012 5:43 AM > To: vuf...@li... > Subject: [VuFind-General] Record import "killed"? > > Hi, > > When importing records for the first time into Vufind, everything > appeared to be going swimmingly until I got this message in the terminal: > > > -> > INFO: Added record 5810 read from file: 18137 > 14-Mar-2012 07:49:47 org.solrmarc.marc.MarcImporter importRecords > INFO: Added record 5811 read from file: 18138 > 14-Mar-2012 07:49:47 org.solrmarc.marc.MarcImporter importRecords > INFO: Added record 5812 read from file: 18139 Killed > <- > > And even after rebooting the server, I am still getting this message > in my > browser: > > "VuFind -- The library OPAC meets Web 2.0. > > And below that in a pinkish box: > > An error has occurred > Connection refused > > Please contact the Library Reference Department for assistance > a.b...@md...
