When I look in facets.ini, I see this: callnumber-first = "Call Number" language = Language format = Format I've figured out that the value after the equal sign is the label. What is the value before the equal sign. What does it have to correspond to? How do we relate it to the MARC record fields? Subject: RE: Advance Search - Limit To I understood your question but gave you the wrong filename in my reply - when I said "searches.ini" I actually meant "facets.ini" - the [Advanced] section of facets.ini will solve your problem. Subject: RE: Advance Search - Limit To Thanks for the quick reply Demian. I think I may have been unclear as to what I was attempting to do. I looked at the searches.ini file, and it looks like the advanced section allows me to control what shows up in the drop-down list beside the "Search for" box (e.g. All Fields, Title, Author, etc.). We would like a whole new list box under the "Limit To" section. Right now, it has three boxes: Call Number, Language, and Format. We would like to add a fourth that says "Collection" which is populated with values from a location field in our ILS. I apologize if you already answered this question below but I missed it! Subject: RE: Advance Search - Limit To The limit boxes on advanced search are controlled by the [Advanced] section of web/conf/searches.ini. Note that if you add a new facet there, it will also show up on your search home page (probably not a bad thing - but you might need to double-check that everything is still formatted appropriately). I believe that the MnPals implementation of VuFind has changed the advanced search limits so that they are applied with OR logic rather than AND logic if multi-selected. This is not possible in the current release of VuFind without some modifications to the code, but you can find some notes on how to achieve it at this JIRA ticket: http://vufind.org/jira/browse/VUFIND-177 I hope to include some of this more flexible facet behavior as a standard feature in a future release of VuFind - just need to find time to finish polishing up the coding. - Demian From: Harris, Gary [mailto:gar...@se...] Sent: Thursday, November 03, 2011 9:22 AM To: vuf...@li... Subject: [VuFind-General] Advance Search - Limit To On the advanced search screen, we want to add another list box for collection. In other words, we want the patrons to be able to limit their searches by collection. "Collection" on our system roughly corresponds to location in our catalog system. Is there an easy way to add additional limiting factors to that page? I was able to track down the advanced.tpl file and the $facetList from which the current boxes are populated, but I am unable to figure out how the $facetList gets built. If you want to see an example of what we're looking for, you can go to either of these links: http://plus.mnpals.net/vufind/Search/Advanced http://discovery.library.colostate.edu/Search/Advanced The first uses collection in the way that we want to use it.
