We are using version 1.0.1 of VuFind. Thank you for the pointer about brute-force debugging...I was able to locate the issue. In the version of /Admin/Home.php that I began with, the connections to the Smarty template (setPageTitle, setTemplate, and display) were listed last in the launch() function. When I moved them above the if statement that loads the Solr statistics, the admin console displays properly. Not sure why the order matters, but it seems to. The Solr stats also take a significant amount of time to load - at least 120 seconds - but right now I'm the only person at the library with access to the console, so I don't mind. Starting with VuFind 1.1, a mechanism was added to disable the admin module (and it is set to be disabled by default unless a setting is turned on in config.ini). When disabled, the module should show a message rather than dying silently... but I wonder if this might be a factor. It's definitely strange that you're not seeing errors anywhere. Have you tried some brute force PHP debugging? Hello, When I attempt to access our VuFind admin console at http://localhost/vufind/Admin/Home, I get a login prompt as expected; I enter our admin username and password, and the browser seemingly passes me on to the admin console. However, the browser window is just blank. Someone else on the listserv had this same problem in April. Following the suggestions given at that time, I turned on debugging, but I didn't garner any extra info. There's nothing in the Apache error log that indicates a problem either.
