Do you know if anyone has developed a visual search interface for VuFind, similar to the visual search feature offered in EBSCOhost, or visual search in the Grokker product by Groxis, or the Kartoo visual meta search engine, or the visual search element in Aquabrowser? Subject: RE: VuFind and accessibility Hi Ryan, I think the facets and availability on the search results page are the only things that would make VuFind not Section 508 compliant. These two features use AJAX to query SOLR and the ILS in order to get better speed with the main search results. All other places where Javascript is used, should degrade gracefully. For example, functions that use a lightbox will take you to a separate page if you have JS turned off. Everything else is normal HTML and CSS. We have some additional testing we would like to do, but I am guessing (with the exception of the facets) it should all hold up. It might be worth some future experimentation to see if someone can load the facets without AJAX and compare the speed to the AJAX version.
