No

I found this such a great idea, I wanted to use it on
SimplyMepis 2004 (debian based) system, kernel 2.6.7. 4
and I have set up VNC servers on every computers at
home. I installed the deb package from your site, no
installed errors with it. However, when starting the
app from console, in the GUI, I enter the server IP,
192.168.1.27:1 as required, it keeps asking me: Display
name must be in the form <server:display>. I tried the
name of the machine instead of its IP address, it keeps
asking that. I normally use xtightvncviewer and that is
running totally ok. And, I did verify I had the right
IP from my router. I looked up the docs, I did
installed the other libs as you mentioned, just in
case, I also installed the Fluid package.

I tried it with a session already running with an other
machine to see, but I get the same message.

After communicating to Doug Barbieri on the matter he
mentioned the following:

"I took a brief look at the problem and I think it
might be that my app is getting confused between the
attempt at generating a thumbnail (a la X, via port
5151 or whatever) and the VNC client trying to connect
to the VNC port :1 (which is something like 5151).

I'm planning to rewrite VncSelector so it handles the
thumbnail generation through VNC protocol instead of
via X. This solves a big problem with trying to allow a
remote X connection."

Cheers!

    This requires a rewrite.
