One missing-link in the vnc experience that is available through some other systems (such as Windows Remote Desktop) is audio. It would be great if tightvnc had support for audio transmission as well. Varying levels of audio compression could be used depending on the quality desired/bandwidth available and the output could be mixed into the host's sound device so that it could occur simultaneously with other native sounds. I'm using VNC as a replacement for a KVM switch, but the one thing I'm still lacking is audio from the remote systems. This would be the final piece of the puzzle. Thanks to all those who have collaborated to make tightvnc such a great piece of software. Carl Youngblood |
