Subject: Re: VNC server authenticating to listening viewer problem Hi Michael: That is not going to work. The Vsat system sits behind a NAT gateway so you can't connect in the way you are trying. Your mom could possibly connect to you depending upon how your home network is setup. You need to try a system/service that your mother's computer connects to a central server on the internet and then tou connect to that server which forwards the traffic between your machine and your mother's. Vnc does't do that. I have tried for years to find something to use to provide support to my 80 year old mom in a mountain cabin. She is running a dell laptop on a satellite Internet connection (Hughs network). I loaded the VNC but can not connect. I have tried many things and just can't get it. I am now using logmein and although it works the delay is roughly 2 minutes between my screen commands here in florida and her computer in the mountains. Is there someone that can help me get her connected. Thank you in advance for your help. Michael D. Harding, P.E. 5005 Jennifer Place Orlando, Florida 32807 Phone: 407.342.8386 Email: mic...@ao... We also deploy VNC viwer in listen mode on some machines for staff educators, as we found it is a useful tool for them to help in the workforces education programs. After the upgrade from server version 1 to 2.0.2 the problem occurred in that when the user right clicks on the server icon and then clicks on Attach Listening Viewer it will ask for the server configuration password before allowing the connection. Is there a way to stop the server asking for authentication.
