Dear all, I have a severe problem when I connect from my openSUSE 10 PC to my XP workstation. Since I could not find any other similar problem in the mailing lists I start a new thread. Server: Windows XP running TightVNC 1.2.9 Client: OpenSUSE 10 running vncviewer 1.2.9 These two guys are connected via a VPN, the client can ping the server, response time is like 60 ms. On the client I open a connection: vncviewer pc-knop1 -xrm "*debug:true" -encodings "Tight Zlib Hextile CoRRE RRE CopyRect Raw" -bgr233 -owncmap -compresslevel 9 -quality 0 -nocursorshape Since I don't expect too much in the beginning all features are turned off. The connection is established, vncviewer prompts for the password. I enter it and the remote window pops up immediately. The content of the remote window is poor: I can see just to top 100 pixels, the rest is not there. The window itself is not responding and if raised from the backgroud it does not repaint it's content. After about 1 minute the window closes as soon as I move the mouse over it (or I raise it from the background) and vncwiever exits. The console output: VNC server supports protocol version 3.3 (viewer 3.3) Password: VNC authentication succeeded Desktop name "pc-knop1" Connected to VNC server, using protocol version 3.3 VNC server default format: 32 bits per pixel. Least significant byte first in each pixel. True colour: max red 255 green 255 blue 255, shift red 16 green 8 blue 0 Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-helvetica-bold-r-*-*-16-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" to type FontStruct Couldn't find a matching PseudoColor visual. Using default colormap and translating from BGR233. Pixel format: 8 bits per pixel. True colour: max red 7 green 7 blue 3, shift red 0 green 3 blue 6 Got 256 exact BGR233 colours out of 256 Using shared memory PutImage << at this point we stuck >> vncviewer: read: Connection reset by peer ShmCleanup called The server is still there. I can ping it or try another vnc session. When I connect to the server from another XP machine in the LAN everything is fine. Has anybody got a clue what the reason for this problem might be? What extra information can I provide? How can I search the error? Thanks for any response! Czerwinski -- Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/ |
