Anything I'm missing? assuming you are using a direct connection to the internet with one pc and a personal firewall ... not much. if you are using a router ... much. :) mhhhh...first you should open the firewall (whichever you are using) for vnc. otherwise an incomming vnc connection is likely to be rejected :) in this case make sure u have a really good vnc password, as now everyone from the "external" world can reach your vnc server! > Then at the office, I go to tight VNC viewer best > connection. What do I then type into the blank on the > connection details vnc server? i think you mean the field where to put your external ip adress from your home-pc (which you get with: ipconfig /all ) or you just visit http://externalip.com from your home pc via http. if the connection information pops up at the office after entering the external ip of your home pc (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) ... all is settled, if not ... go ask your it-staff. they thought of something when blocking this ;-) please be aware not to shut down your firewall at your home pc, just open it for vnc. if you are unprotected online nowadays ...malware finds it´s way within the blink of an eye.
