Maybe a proxy timeout issue. Can he try another proxy server? -----Original Message----- From: Marc Williams [mailto:ma...@on...] Sent: Monday, October 27, 2003 2:06 PM To: tightVNC list Subject: listen connection problem I provide some ad hoc support to a few friends and family using tight VNC. It works well except on one machine. Normally, I like to fire up my vncviewer in listen mode and let the server connect to me. This works well in all cases except for my son's computer in his new college dormitory. In this case, I can see his VNC server attempting to make a connection to my VNC viewer console but it connects SO slowwwwly that it's just not worth it. No errors appear at either end. It will take perhaps 3 or more minutes before my console will even *begin* to attempt displaying his screen. Totally unacceptable. What *does* work is if I initiate the connection normally using my VNC viewer (not listen mode). Then all works well. But I'd prefer not connecting in this manner. What should I do to try and get VNC listen mode working between us? Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: The SF.net Donation Program.
