I was using tightvnc 2.0.2 viewer which had a feature where the mouse would 'bump' to the edge of the client screen (in full screen mode) and it would automatically scroll up/down/left/right at a specific rate. This made usablitiy much better when client and server had slightly different resolutions. This feature was removed for all subsequent releases and replaced with less convient scrollbars. I would recommend a new 'auto scroll' feature that can be enabled when going full screen.
I'd second that except I don't know why you'd want a "bump" vs a normal scrolling capability. Anytime you have vertical scrollbars on your TVNC session you should be able to use the scrollwheel on your trackball, touchpad, mouse or other device.
bump scrolling is useful when you're dragging a file across windows.
Much easier than any mouse button/wheel gymnastics.
