#302 Use AIM to establish connections from behind NAT

AFAIU, VNC connections thru NAT require explicit
inbound port-mapping on either the server side (normal
mode) or on the client side (listen mode).

Would it be possible to piggyback onto the AIM protocol
to open the outbound ports from both ends, and then
use some sort of handshaking to tie the two connections
together? (e.g. the way two AIM clients do).

This would still require opening ports in firewalls, but
wouldn't require inbound port mapping.

n.b. I'm not a real networking person, so some of my
vocabulary may be incorrect.

You might consider using the viewer in listen mode, however this would still require one side of the connection to be mapped/open.

This could probably be closed considering AIM is dead.
