When I use TightVNC on the server, using Hextile
compression (i.e. same setup than a normal VNC server),
screen refreshes are a lot slower than with VNC.

The server is a win2k machine. I have the control panel
and the "network and dialup" to be expanded as a menu.
Then, I just move the mouse over the one of the menu,
wait until it opens, then move the pointer over the
other menu. With TightVNC, it takes about 3s to update
the screen. With normal VNC, it's about 1s. In both
case, I use TightVNC as a viewer.

Yes, I can confirm the problem (appeared in TightVNC 1.2.2).
I'm currently working on solving the issue.

Fixed in the upcoming 1.2.5 release.

Tight compression works much faster than Hextile
    compression I have noticed.
