Dear tightvnc Team,
while I appreciate your work a lot, I want to share my first impression of the latest release after working with it for an hour:
After the recent update from v2.8.63 to 2.8.75 tightVNC has become unusable for me.
I'm experiencing slow screen updates, resulting in white "rectangles" while scrolling through windows.
Please take a look at the attached screenshot:
to the left you see v2.8.75 -> white rectangles
to the right you see v2.8.63 -> smooth scrolling possible
After trying to adjust settings within tightVNC Viewer, I have rolled back to version 2.8.63.
I'm using tightVNC for over a decade.
My user experience always was great:
tightVNC screen updates were fast, remote control without lags.
I don't know how to track down the reason.
If I can help, please let me know.
Cheers
KJ
could you test the version?
Hi Anton,
thank you very much for providing a quick fix.
the fix improves a bit in responsiveness and speed, but still incomparable to version 63.
To showcase I'll stick to the test done before:
using the app list in windows 10 settings to scroll through installed apps list.
Attached you will find a screenshot showing version 2.8.77.
While the speed of "recovering" those white rectangles improved a bit, which means screen rebuilds faster compared to version 2.8.75, it is not possible to have a smooth scrolling visibility like in version 2.8.63.
I can provide screenrecordings if this would help in troubleshooting.
Cheers
KJ
