Windows 11. working fine in landscrape mode but black screen in portrait mode. Still able to control the mouse.
Both server and client upgraded to latest version 2.8.63.
I have one display only in host machine, and 3 displays in client machine.
I just tried 2.8.59 in host machine. no luck. My display resolution is 1680 x 1050. I tried to change it to 1024x768 then portrait it and still not work.

interestingly, if I first use remote desktop (RDP) with a portrait monitor machine, and then connect to tightvnc server with "Connect to RDP session", then it shows as portrait without any problem. Hope this helps your debug process.

Hi, has anyone found a workable solution to this? I've got quite a few portrait screens that I remote access with tight vnc with this issue. Exact same symptoms as above.

I have the same problem. I've tried the previous version and it experiences the same issue.
It was okay when the host machine is Win10.

Has anyone solved the problem with a black screen in portrait mode on windows 11?
microsoft would fix it in some next update
https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2022/05/19/releasing-windows-11-build-22000-706-to-the-release-preview-channel/
"We fixed an issue that affects the Desktop Duplication API, which affects display orientation and causes a black image to appear on the screen."
