#1536 mouse/keyboard don't work when remoting and other issues

when remoting into a machine, can only view but cannot use mouse or keyboard. the mouse does not move on the other system from local or remote view. after disconnect, the mouse on the remote system has a strange 'jumping' motion every 5 seconds or so until task manager has been brought up and tightvnc has been force ended.

not sure if it's normal but there are 2 'tightvnc' in task manager that need to be removed.

have removed and reinstalled on both machines.

can use tightvnc viewer on 'trouble' machine to connect to other machines just fine.

have the same issue when remoting into the 'trouble' machine from ANY workstation even from remote network.

all windows 10 and tightvnc updates have been applied.

windows 10: 10.0.19042.630 b19042 v20H2
tightvnc: 2.8.27

    I have a question: did the problem appear in TightVNC 2.8.27 as well? Does uninstalling 2.8.55 and installing 2.8.27 resolves the issue? Please let us know — that will help us identify and hopefully fix the problem in the nearest time.

      hello, and yes, it all of the sudden started on 2.8.27 and only on that one machine. i've tried going back and forth between the two in combination on that machine and with other machines with the viewer but still that weird issue. uninstalled, reinstalled, reverted and upgraded, etc.

    ok so i uninstalled tightvnc from both the workstation and the trouble machine. installed the old 2.8.27 32 bit on both and it worked fine.

    uninstalled from both machines, installed 2.8.27 64bit version and the issue came back. remote in, can see the screen but mouse doesn't work, exit out and on the trouble computer has the jumping mouse until the tightvnc process is killed then the mouse doesn't jump anymore.

    reversed the process, 64bit to 32 bit 2.8.27 and it worked fine again. could remote in, no mouse issues, can control and exit the remote (trouble) machine just fine.

    so since it worked fine with the 32bit version, i'm assuming you would like me to reinstall the current 64 bit version and get the log files from that?

    ok so removed 32 bit 2.8.27 version on both machines, reinstalled 2.8.55 64 bit on both machines......and issue was gone. i believe there was a windows update between my post on the 7th and today, i believe windows updated from build 19042 to build 19042.685 so it may have been a windows issue with b19042.
    so this issue may be 'closed' unless you need me to try anything else at this time.
