When shutting down Windows without closing down applications with open files (for example Excel) Windows will ask for confermation to force shutdown of these applications.
In this state the TightVNC server does not seem to accept new connections. it respons with "Connection has been gracefully closed" when logging with the correct password (and a password error msg when trying to log in with an incorrect password)
Since TightVNC does not accept connections, the application/windows shudown can't be confirmed and since Windows waits forever in this shutdown state it can't be restarted using wake-on-lan.
For users working remotely (TightVNC over VPN), it would be nice to accept new connections when Windows is in this state. Maybe TightVNC could track how long Windows is in this state, and if it seems stuck, allouw new TightVNC connections anyway, so the remote user can confirm (or cancel) the forced shutwon.
versions: TightVNC server 2.8.27 on Windows 7, connecting over a local LAN using the TightVNC windows client.
