I've used TightVNC for several years without issue. But at the moment I'm stumped with something I've never encountered. Been trying to troubleshoot this for several days now and am getting nowhere...hopefully can get some direction from the buglist team
All of a sudden on my W7 Pro x64 machine cannot receive inbound connections via WAN or LAN. Outbound viewer connections work just fine but I cant get anything inbound.
Port forwarding is OK.
Firewall OK.
Everything I can think of appears normal and OK.
Service is started and running. (or at least appears to be, but only partially)
Tried to isolate possible causes, apps, conflicting services, assigned different ports, enabled, disabled features, tried uninstalling, reinstalling to no avail.
I've used https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cports.html to see what the ports are doing and have compared to other machines in my network where VNC server is working correctly. On the working machines when I run cports.exe shows 3 instances of the tvnserver.exe process: one for local port 5800 (local address 0.0.0.0), the second for local port 5900 (local adress 0.0.0.0) and the third for local port 5900 (local address {LAN IP address of the host computer} and a remote port as well)
It is this third instance of the tvnserver.exe process that is missing on my W7 machine that I cant for the life of me figure out why its missing. Server icon is in the bottom right of my taskbar as it always has been, all other functionality of VNC working correctly. When I hover my cursor over the icon I see my computer local IP but this is does not seem to be carrying through somehow.
Please assist when time permits. Thank you!
Forgot to include this is TightVNC build 2.8.8
