I am fully up to date with my Windows10 updates, and I'm running the latest version of Tight VNC. I use Jump Desktop as my VNC client on my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge phone, to VNC into my three Raspberry Pi boxes at home, both via a wifi connection on my WAN, and via the cell data service. Everything works just fine.

I can also VNC into my desktop computer (Windows 10) without any problems, both on the wifi network, and using the cell data service...

...Until the Windows 10 desktop system displays the login screen. At that point, when I connect using Jump Desktop on my phone, I can see the Windows 10 login screen and use Jump Desktop to move the cursor around my phone's screen, but no keyboard entry appears to work. If I send the ESC character, I'm not presented with the Windows 10 password input field. Clicking anyhwere on the login screen does nothing.

After returning home and logging in from the keyboard attached to the desktop computer, I can see that TightVNC has crashed, with the message "Application crashing. Do you want to save debug information?" I've attached the crash.dmp file.

I'm able to reproduce this 100% of the time.

When sitting in front of the desktop computer, I can see Windows 10 pop up the login paswword box when I send the ESC character from the remote client (phone). I see no changes on my phone's screen, and when I move the cursor around on my phone client, it does not move on the Windows 10 machine. Meanwhile, the password input field times out and goes away, and TightVNC crashes in the background. I've tried this both on wifi and via the cell network with identical results.

So, I'm able to use VNC, as long as Windows 10 is not waiting for me to log in with my password! A workaround, therefore, is to stop Windows 10 from locking, but that has inherent security issues.

Hello, Julian. Thanks for the report. Can you test this version?

    Anton,

Excellent! It works perfectly... both over wifi and cellular data! Thank you very much!
