For now the open source version is dead. When you have a look at the viplugin homepage http://www.satokar.com/viplugin/index.php you can see that in the last 4 versions functionality improvements and bugfixes have been done and this will continue to evolve that way. I'm currently working on macro support and visual line mode. You can also check the feature comparision table. Best regards, Michael |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi All, I'd like to tinker with the plugin a bit. I've tried creating a new = project, both Java and of type plugin. I plan on trying to configure the project = a little more, but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on getting a viPlugin = development environment up and running. Maybe I could take a look at someone's .project file? I remapped Ctrl-N just using the preferences in 3.0M8. Look under workbench, keys. I mapped Ctrl-N to content assist, which is normally mapped to Ctrl-Space. Ctrl-N is normally used to create new projects or classes, which I don't use frequently. Ooooh, aaah, very nice. I would love this feature. However, don't = forget about=20 the limited CTRL-SPACE (code-assist) for eclipse completion. Hi Kyle, C-P and C-N to "completion" on words. You type out the first few letters of a word (say, a variable identifier) and then C-P will search up the document until it finds it, and multiple C-P matches the next, next, ... etc. C-N goes down the document. This works really well, because you might have a function defined with parameter names, and you want to complete those identifiers. Or some long constant name... you get the idea. Anyone who uses a unix shell knows how great "tab completion" is. C-P and C-N don't stop if they can't find the word in the buffer. They'll start searching the other buffers you have open. It is a truly glorious time saver, and it encourages me to use more verbose variable names. -Ben -----Original Message----- From: "Kyle Gibbons" <kyl...@be...> Sent: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 14:13:21 -0400 To: <vip...@li...> Subject: RE: [Viplugin-user] Ctrl-F and Ctrl-B from Vim Eugeni, If you have luck with mapping C-F and C-B please post back to the list as I wish to do this as well. Very glad to find your project. Used to work in Vim for sometime, maybe will move to Eclipse. My first question is: How to make Ctrl-F and Ctrl-B action like in original Vim? |

But I want to start hacking on the viPlugin again anyway, so you will most probably see this in the 0.2.10 release. Please file a bugreport on sf.net. Thx, Michael Bartl |

I can load viplugin but none of vi's function is available to me. I don't really understand why this is happening. I am working on it from last 2 days and can not find a solution. I am using eclipsev3.0M7, which is the latest one on windows 2000. viplugin version is 0.2.9 I have loaded viplugin as described, by using eclipse software updates and then activated it. I can see the vi icon on the toolbar and also the vi menu element. But strangely it is not doing anything. No vi command nothing. Anyhelp will be great. The only thing I can do when it does not work is simply forget eclipse and work with vi (thats what I am doing till now). I tried to use eclipse earlier but found it difficult to use this without vi features. Now once I found this plugin I really felt very happy but it is not working for me.
