Dear Rudra and Filip, Thank you very much for your replies. I tried the newer version (gerw/vim-latex-suite) but didn't solve my problem either :-(! Oops...sorry. I pressed send button too early. I was also facing the problem with same distro, same vim as the OP. But with the recent update of the plugin (I use Vundle for that), the problem is solved. I am using 'gerw/vim-latex-suite' which is "This repo contains an improved version of latex-suite ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/vim-latex/)" Hope this helps. Hello, unfortunately, I don't have a solution to your problem, I just can state that smart quotes work in my vim-latex installation. After hitting " twice, I get ``''<++> as expected. Rather than vim-version, I think it is a matter of version of the vim-latex suite; mine comes from the OpenSuSE 13.2 distribution. Unfortunately, it seems to me that some of such minor functionalities fail in some cases, depending on distribution, and are quite hard to track if one does not understand quite deeply how vim-latex works. Otherwise, vim-latex is a nice piece of work. Dear Developers, The Smart Quote feature seems not to be working properly in vim 7.4.640 (on Fedora 22). Instead of replacing double-quote (") with `` and '' accordingly, it is replaced with "``" and "''" (i.e., the corresponding two back-ticks or two apostrophes are enclosed in an extra pair of double-quotes themselves). I was wondering if there exists a solution for the issue. Thanks, Mani -- Mani Bastani Parizi LTHI, I&C Department, EPFL. http://people.epfl.ch/mani.bastaniparizi |

Hi Renliang, I didn't know about \addbibresource. Just now, I tried to use \addbibresource as you recommend: \documentclass{article} \addbibresource{./bibfiles/bibfile1.bib} \addbibresource{./bibfiles/bibfile2.bib} \addbibresource{./bibfiles/bibfile3.bib} \addbibresource{./bibfiles/bibfile4.bib} \begin{document} \section{Section 1} \bibliographystyle{plain} \end{document} But vim-latex are not able to autocomplete a partial "\cite{" + F9. I tried used the current version of vim-latex and my modifications but both failed in to do that. One thing more: I must use bibtex instead biblatex. My collaborators are a little bit old school. And the most journals I have submitted paper (from Elsevier and Spring), are not biblatex yet. Again, compatibility across platforms, journals, and people are crucial to me. Kind regards, Carlos On Wed, Jul 8, 2015 at 6:16 PM, Renliang Gu <gur...@gm...> wrote: > Why not use \addbibresource to add a hresource. You can put this command > in the preamble. Why not use \addbibresource to add a hresource. You can put this command in the preamble. It replaces the \bibliography legacy command (See the biblatex document). By using \addbibresource, you can add bib files one by one. 顾任亮(Renliang Gu) On Wed, Jul 8, 2015 at 4:36 PM, Carlos Eduardo de Andrade < ce....@gm...> wrote: > Thanks Gerd. Thanks Gerd. I have submitted a pull request on github. This is my first time doing that, so please folks, sorry about something weird I did. Hi, you can file a pull-request on github (https://github.com/vim-latex/vim-latex) or you can send the patch to the mailing list. Hi all, I usually use a lot of bibfiles such as: \bibliography{./bibfiles/agt,% ./bibfiles/algorithms,% ./bibfiles/backhaul_networks,% ./bibfiles/clustering,% ./bibfiles/companies,% ./bibfiles/covering,% ./bibfiles/column_generation,% ./bibfiles/cut_packing,% ./bibfiles/economics,% ./bibfiles/experimental_design,% ./bibfiles/facility_location,% ./bibfiles/information_retrieval} This is just a short list. Usually, I use 25+ bibfiles together. So, to keep a little bit organized, I like to put each bibfile in on line. Of course, I can list all files in the same line, but it doesn't result in a good performance in my vim (Macvim) and, besides that, it is very ugly. The problem is that Bibtex doesn't allow space, so I need to end each line with a comment, exactly as in the example above. Unfortunately, vim-latex auto-complete is not able to deal with such arrangement. Indeed, I have notice that vim-latex only works with bibfiles listed in one line. So I dig a little bit and found the code to list bibfiles. I have patched it to deal with my situation. Indeed, it is a very simple patch. How can I send it to you check, debug, and maybe include in the vim-latex distribution? Kind regards, Carlos -- Carlos Eduardo de Andrade |

Hi all, When using the Latex-suite plugin in vim, typing "..." (3 periods) expands to either \ldots or \cdots (see section 3.9 Smart Key Mappings of the latex-suite manual). I am using a lot the amsmath package that provides \dots, and I'd like to make "..." expand to just \dots. I tried putting :call IMAP('...', '\dots','tex') in $VIM/after/ftplugin/tex_macros.vim but it does nothing. How can I make "..." expand to \dots? Moreover, is there any way to do the above only if the amsmath package is detected? Thanks a lot |

Hum... I'm not very sure I got it. I've actually a vanilla installation of Vim with almost no configuration. I've copied all files in the correct place, but still, vim-latex gets activated for every file type. I don't think I want to customise... I simply want it to work as expected. Perhaps I'm missing something... Could you help me better understand? >== Auszüge aus der Nachricht von Alfredo Canziani vom 2015-03-15 18:24: > What actually leave me perplex is the "filetype plugin on". I was expecting > something like "tex plugin on". `filetype plugin on` tells vim to detect the file type and load the scripts located in the ftplugin and after/ftplugin directories named TYPE.vim or TYPE_someText.vim, where TYPE is the type of the file. It is not specific to any file type, you are free to add any customization for any file type you want. Customizations should be put in the after/ftplugin directory thus shadowing the original definitions in ftplugin and avoiding being lost on updates of the original plugins. I copy and paste what is written in the help file ( http://vim-latex.sourceforge.net/documentation/latex-suite/recommended-settings.html ) What actually leave me perplex is the "filetype plugin on". I was expecting something like "tex plugin on". Actually, vim-latex interferes with my lua scripts as well. When I press <Ctrl>-<J> for moving to a lower split view, it goes into Edit mode (like for jumping into the next <++>). It would be very nice being able to disable vim-latex for stuff that is not .tex. Any idea of how this can be done? Hi, The very useful "<foo>" -> ``<foo>" map in .tex file also affects my .bib file. For me, hence, it is impossible to use " ", which always mapped to `` ", which I don't want. Is it possible to train vim-latex not to use this (or any other mapping) for .bib file? |

Hi all. Some time ago <http://sourceforge.net/p/vim-latex/mailman/message/32882298/> I submitted in this mailing list a problem regarding how some abbreviation were expanded in an unexpected way with <shift><enter>. Lately, I also asked about this issue on vi.stackexchange <http://vi.stackexchange.com>. You can find the question here <http://vi.stackexchange.com/q/2245/602>. As you can see there, an answerer <http://vi.stackexchange.com/a/2259/602> points out that this is possibly caused by a bug in the IMAP plugin. Can you confirm this? Will this be fixed? Thanks, Luca |

Dear all, after a distribution upgrade, I am experiencing a strange problem with the forward search. I use pdflatex and pdf target format for both compiling and viewing. When I input \lv , Okular with the pdf file is activated. (By the way, Okular 0.21 now supports document tabbing, and each time a new tab is opened... slightly annoying). However, when I attempt a forward search via \ls, this fails; Okular will say: "Could not open /home/path/yourfile.dvi". It obviously can't open it, but I would like it to open the pdf. I don't know why this happens nor where to change this behaviour. Thanks in advance for your help. Filip |

Hi folks, The website installation instruction, in the Download section, needs an update to reflect the new files contained in the archive. More specifically, there are now "latextags", "Makefile", "Makefile.in" and "vim-latex.metainfo.xml" and no reference to them is done. At the moment, the instruction tells to copy everything into your "~/.vim" folder. Tutorial wise, I believe it might be definitely useful introducing there the shortcut Sxx, Fxx and the "`" escape character for Greek letters. Last thing, it is not transparent how to change the <Ctrl - J> hot key to some other <Ctrl - ;>, for example. Oftentimes, <Ctrl - HJKL> are used to move left, down, up and right between split views.
