This is: http://vim.sourceforge.net/script.php?script_id=461 OK. Lets return to Suite. I'd like to add commenting[1] lines. Eg something like :vmap % . Implementing is easy but another question is important: Where it (and another new features go) should go? I don't see in current file structure place where this could go. I guess I will just have to do a > lot of scrolling to see the log messages. You could do what I did. I set up a filter which redirects all cvs mails into a vim-latex-cvs folder and then changed my mailing preferences for the mailing list as individual mails instead of the daily digest. This way each mail in the folder has the log message at the very top so you dont have to scroll, the message subject is also descriptive instead of "daily digest" and also it wont clutter up your inbox, so you can see it periodically when you wish. Good to hear about the linux install going smoothly :) The next time I get a computer, its going to be linux! PS: I am wondering whether we should have a "Reply To:" header in the devel mailing list header. Right now, the only way to only reply to the group in pine is to choose "reply all", compose and then delete the sender from the to list. kinda longish. With the reply to, pine will ask to use "Reply To:" -- Srinath |

I do not plan to read the diffs on a regular basis, but I do want to see the log messages; I would rather look at diffs (either "cvs diff -c" or the CVS web viewer) only when I am interested in the change. I guess I will just have to do a lot of scrolling to see the log messages. I successfully upgraded my BIOS, installed my new 40-GB hard drive, and started installing Linux. It seems to be going smoothly, so I will do some more vim-latex work soon. (And my next e-mail might be from the new system.) > Learn Touch Typing with Vim: > http://vim.sourceforge.net/scripts.php?script_id=461 I may give that a try, one of these days! --Benji |

Now we just need to make a web-page for it since I have had one person enquiring about it... > Can syncmail be set up to send only log messages, not diffs? > I think it can be. syncmail is actually a fairly small (and well written) python script, so even if it is not possible by default, we will certainly be able to tweak it. However, I am wondering whether this is a good idea. the context diff gives a nice overview of the general area a person has worked on without having to delve into the code. Often times, this is enough to spot some incongruities etc. Srinath -- Srinath Avadhanula Nov 6 12:40am Never make anything simple and efficient when a way can be found to make it complex and wonderful. |
