Vice 3.10 + USBSID-pico v1.3 (071 firmware) on Mac mini M4 Tahoe 26.5.2 (25F84)
Do you have any ideas for bypassing the USBSID-pico restrictions in Vice 3.10 (vice-arm64-gtk3-3.10-r46028...vice-arm64-gtk3-3.10-r46155). Sudo causes the option to be launched in Vice. Otherwise, it doesn't recognize USBSID. Besides the option, when switching USBSID, it responds as shown in the log. However, it doesn't play any sounds. Vice 3.10 works without any problems in Parallels W11 using USBSID-pico on the same macOS. I haven't been able to get it to work on macOS. All these fixes might work on older macOS systems, but not on Tahoe. Does anyone have USBSID-pico working on this under Vice ?
Perhaps it's related to the more restrictive macOS Tahoe and the libsusb library?

I have no issues in MacOs15 on Intel x86-64 (virtual machine) when running with sudo?
Have you also selected usbsid as SID device in the settings?

On a Mac M4, after executing SUDO x64sc.app, it launches as shown in the attachment, recognizing the USBSID and reporting in the terminal that there are two SIDs (2 sockets = 8580R5 + sidkick 8580). Whatever I put into playback from the .SID, the USBSID doesn't respond. It continues to flash as if it were powered on, even though the logs and the SOUND MENU in VICE should be working. But it works immediately under the Parallels W11 emulator. And on all Intel machines.
Can you screenshot the sounddriver tab for me?

Whatever settings can be changed in the speaker, you can hear the stereo/mono change click, but it's as if VICE wasn't sending the data to play the sound.

VICE > Sound DRIVER >>> ENABLE SOUND EMULATION!
I don't know, I tried that option earlier and it didn't work... When you asked about the screen sound driver, the emulation option was indeed disabled. After enabling it, it works. So, running it via SUDO + sound driver > ENABLE SOUND EMULATION does the trick.
I edited the SUDO config to avoid having to constantly enter the password _automator with the shell launcher, and everything works.
Actually, after automatically selecting or finding the USBSID-pico device, I believe Vice should have set the OPTIONS in the Sound Driver AUTOMATICALLY to ENABLED, otherwise you could have rewritten libusd for Mac :)

Was just about to tell you from your screenshot of the sounddriver tab that you need to have sound emulation on for vice to generate sound...
Yes, Maybe it's worth adding to Vice in the next fixes so that it automatically sets itself to Enabled sound emulation...

What can be done about driver signing so that Vice doesn't have to start via SUDO after installation? Should I put the USB driver into memory and start it with the system, or specify what can be used in the configuration? It's common knowledge that with each new OS (Tahoe) comes more restrictions than with libusb.
