Today, one can buy a WiFi module for the user port. How about creating a virtual edition of this card, so that it's able to "go online"? It would allow for easy development of online C64/128 games, chats etc.
rs232 emulation does already support network connections. together with tcpser you even get the "modem emulation" that those wifi things provide.
