As the macFUSE version of VeraCrypt is broken in macOS 27, I moved to the fuse-t version. I have discovered a MAJOR BUG.

macOS 27.0.1
fuse-t 1.2.9
VeraCrypt 1.26.29 FUSE-T version

  1. Mount a VeraCrypt volume
  2. Unmount (either via OS or VeraCrypt)
  3. Quit VeraCrypt (or not; allow background or not)
  4. Open Network in Finder
  5. Open "fuse-t"
  6. Open .veracrypt_aux_mnt
  7. Open volume.dmg

The unmounted, encrypted volume mounts with no password prompt.

This happens whether VeraCrypt is set to delete passwords from the cache or not.

This happens whether "fuse-t" is enabled in the macOS Extensions settings or not.

It happens whether the VeraCrypt background task is allowed in either VeraCrypt settings or macOS.

I very much suspect this is more an issue with fuse-t than VeraCrypt, but if so, VeraCrypt needs to drop support for fuse-t and fix the macFUSE version.

NOTE: The "fuse-t" entry in Network intermittently disappears and reappears, but when it reappears, the formerly mounted VeraCrypt volume can be opened.

An emergency new version (1.26.30) for Macs was pushed out by the developer just a few hours ago. Everyone on a Mac should update immediately:
