#326 Accidentally formatted Veracrypt encrypted external drive.

Hi Sir,

Please help as i accidentally formatted unmounted, encrypted veracrypt external drive. I am still able to restore the volume header through veracypt. I tried a lot of partition recovery tools nad file recovery but i still have no luck.

Can you explain in more detail how you formatted the unmounted VeraCrypt volume?

Did you perform quick format?

Is the VeraCrypt volume a partition on the disk or just the disk?

Example: \Device\Hardisk(some number)\Partition(same number) or is it only
Hardisk (Some number):

When you performed the accidental format, did you keep the same size as the original?

Are you able to mount the VeraCrypt volume now that you have restored the volume header?

If you are able to mount the VeraCrypt volume, which data recovery software have you tried to restore your missing files?

cam someone let me know how you fixed it please? I did the quick format but didnt let it finish but i still get the same error. how do i get this fixed please?
