Hi, having some issues in accessing veracrypt as part of a whonix installation. Whonix uses a secure sysmaint user split from the standard user for security purposes. A standard user does not have sudo permissions again for security purposes.

Installation of the veracrypt has been done on the sysmaint user side and makes the application available to all other users.

When trying to open veracrypt encrypted containers i am getting the following error:

Permission denied:
/usr/bin/sudo

VeraCrypt::CoreService::StartElevated:451

Previous to the display of the above, veracrypt asks for a admin password, neither the user account or or sysmaint default password seem to apply and then the error is posted.

Is there a way around this issue?

I am aware the option to remove the whonix sysmaint user split exists, but would rather not go down this route since i prefer the split of concerns for security purposes. The question is, is veracrypt asking for a veracrypt specific admin password, or a system user admin password?

Would be grateful for any assistance in this matter as have been offline for far too long in trying to resolve the issue to access my container using whonix.

Thanks
