After full encryption of the Seagate 8 TB Backup Plus Hub, attaching it over USB to a Windows 7 PC shows an error message saying Windows can't access it and it needs formatting.
Litterally: "You need to format the disk in drive X, before you can use it".
The drive is successfully mounted by VeraCrypt .
Anyone has advice on how to deal with large drives encryption by Veracrypt and compatibility with Windows ?

Got it sorted.
Restarted veracrypt volume encryption (quick format) on the 8 TB drive. It was a new drive anyway.
Now it's working without the error message.

With the VeraCrypt volume dismounted, using Windows Disk Management do you see a drive letter assigned to the drive?
If yes, you need to remove the Windows assigned drive letter when the volume is dismounted.
no drive letter assigned by Windows.
When trying to mount the 8 Tb drive using VeraCrypt, this error is displayed on the mount attempt!
Got it sorted.
