Subject : not able to mount hidden volume with protected hidden volume
    option enabled

"Password not recognized" message is displayed only when trying using the
    hidden volume protection option.
Mounting hidden volume or outer hidden volume alone one at a time works.
The behaviour is the same after passwords have been changed.

    Using VC 1.26.15 windows 7 64.
Volume is on an usb drive.

    Any advice ?

    Thanks.

A search found a similar problem, but not applicable, because it concerns
    the encrypted system.

Try using 1.25.9 version for Windows since Windows 7 is no longer tested starting with 1.26.x versions.

From the release notes in 1.26.7:

Officially, the minimum supported version is now Windows 10. VeraCrypt may still run on Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1, but no active tests are done on these platforms.

Tested with 1.25.9 it is a fail. I will try with another computer.

I have tried with windows 10 with last veracrypt version on antoher computer, the behaviour is the same.
Mounting hidden volume or outer hidden volume alone one at a time works again.
    Any advice ?

Can you post a screenshot of your VeraCrypt Settings > Preferences screen?
