Hi, I have used veracrypt to encrypt folders and it is great.

I would like to encrypt my entire system. I am using a Lenovo with Windows 10. It came with a 260Mb EFI System partition. So when i try to run 1.18 Veracrypt and encrypt the drive i get the "Warning: Windows does not appear to be installed on the drive from which it boots. This is not supported" message.

Which makes sense, because they appear to have windows booting from this partition, but all the system files on the main partition.

Is there any way around this?

Ok, from reading your forum i have noticed that the entire encryption option cannot be selected. All good

But i just want to confirm that if i continue anyway, and then i can only select the "Encrypt the windows system partition" selection. Does this mean that it is encrypting my 260Mb EFI System partition, or does this mean it is encrypting my entire C: drive?

And is this all i need to do to be fully encrypted or is there something i must de beyond this step?

    Thanks in advance

In EFI, we can not encrypt the whole disk because the small EFI Reserved Partition must remain unencrypted in order to be able to boot.

By choosing the option in VeraCrypt to encrypt the system partition, the C: partition will be fully encrypted.
If you have other partitions on your disk, you can encrypt them manually afterwards and set them to mount at boot as system favorites, provided that they use the same password as the Pre-Boot authentication password.
