The next time I tried to open to volume, with a password that I konw for sure is correct, it wouldn't open. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try opening it using the inbuilt header.

    Thanks for your reply.
There were a few places wehre I found the word "header". The only one I tried was Mount > Mount Options > Use backup header embedded in volume if possible. This one didn't work. I didn't want to try the other ones because I don't understand what they do and I don't want to make anymore mistakes. Could you please clarifly which option is the "inbuilt header"?

    That was the one.

Do you have access to another computer, if so try opening it on another one .
also retry a few times on yours , like as soon as you turn it on with nothing else being used.
Remember some discs would not work on one computer but would work on others, got nothing to lose by trying.
I believe their is also an option to restore header from embedded one look through the instructions for that and try it.

    Hi,

This is still the same me but they made me make a new acount for some reason.

I've tried opening the volume on another computer and it still didn't work. I also tried the inbuilt header thing on the other compuer also, and it didn't work.

I restarted my usual computer and tried a few times and it still didn't work. I do have some startup programs... would this affect it?

I have two other volumes that open fine on both computers.

It seems like it has become corrupted, there are a few threads on here I have seen where the programmers who are developing veracrypt have made recomendations on what other things can be done like recovery programs etc.

I can not advise on these methods as I always keep at least 2 backups so a corruption problem does not effect me and have not needed to try them.
Sorry I can't help any further
