I have a G751 Ds71, it has a faulty keyboard so I bought an external one, luckily before fully testing Veracrypt I entered a simple password(and a key that worked on the old integrated keyboard) well to my surprise, the K70 Lux cannot be used to type in a password. I had to disasemble the laptop to connect the integrated keyboard again.
I checked my BIOS settings, Secure boot is disabled and Legacy USB is enabled.

It is difficult to to analyze such issues since VeraCrypt bootloader
(either in UEFI or MBR mode) doesn't handle keyboards directly but
rather it relies on the machine firmware or BIOS to handle keyboard
input and send typed keys to us.
Is the keyboard detected after cold boot when your enter the BIOS menu
of your machine?

A quick search on the internet shows that such issue is common with K70
and disabling Legacy USB Support in BIOS might help. Does this solve the
issue for you as well? Reference:

Probably this keyboard has some non standard behavior in EFI mode and it
will not be possible to to implement specific workaround for it.
