I just can't seem to encrypt my USB drive. Every time I start the process, an error occurs (A device which does not exist was specified, Source: volTransformThreadFunction:2756). It always stops at random points. Sometimes at 20%, sometimes at 13%, as shown in the screenshot here.
I once tried it as a test with a 5-digit password (12345), using only AES encryption and a very short randomness collection (I only moved the mouse for about 5 seconds), and it worked. I also plugged the USB drive into the opposite side of my laptop.
But I can’t imagine that any of that makes a difference in why it should work. So what’s the problem here?
Now I've used a 20- to 35-character password, AES combined with two other encryption methods, and moved the mouse for just over 30 seconds.
But even when I simulate the scenario as it worked back then, it doesn't work now.

Now it worked with a new USB drive.
Reason was the USB drive being too old
