Could the FAQ section of the documentation include an entry on what makes VeraCrypt more trustworthy compared to other popular closed source encryption software and hardware? VeraCrypt is open source and its code has been fully audited, which proves that VeraCrypt can be trusted over BitLocker and self-encrypting drives.

VeraCrypt can now encrypt the key/password in RAM. I believe that BitLocker cannot do this.

Also worth pointing out that self-encrypting drives have been found to be very insecure! Example: https://www.itpro.co.uk/encryption/32302/critical-vulnerabilities-ssd-encryption

There are no government agency ‘backdoors’ in VeraCrypt (being open source proves there is nothing to hide).

With all the points above, I hope this can be included in the documentation. VeraCrypt is more trustworthy and secure compared to other popular closed source encryption software and hardware.

From that link, the research paper says (bold emphasis added by me):

"We recommend users that depend on hardware encryption implemented in SSDs to employ also a software full-disk encryption solution, preferably an open-source and audited one."
