Have just spent hours encrypting a new 2GB external hard drive. Have followed encryption process carefully through to successul completion. However encrypted volume will not mount. I'm definitely entering the password correctly. Now unable to use the disk at all. Assume I made a mistake somewhere along the line but can't see where. Would appreciate advice.

It is possible the password entered during the encryption of the external hard drive had a typo.

If the drive is brand new, then encrypting it again from scratch and selecting the quick format option will take only a short while to complete.

Thanks for your comments. The password was entered correctly without any typos but I have discovered the mistake I made at the end of the encryption process. I clicked on "Quick Format" which I shouldn't have done. This prevented the disk from being mounted.

Hmm, perhaps @idrassi should look at this. Maybe you could write up a ticket?

Selecting 'Quick Format' in VeraCrypt during encryption should not make any difference to successfully mounting the drive after encryption (as far as I am aware).

Still, if the drive now mounts, all's well.
