I have a portable SSD whose entire drive is encrypted. There is no operating system installed on it.

I use the latest version of Veracrypt 1.26.29 (64-bit) on Microsoft Windows 11 (build 26200.9168)

Below are the steps I take to TRIM said drive without success:

  1. In Veracrypt, I choose Drive K: to be the drive on which the decrypted SSD will be mounted

  2. I choose Select Device --> Harddisk 2 (Size 1.8TB) --> OK

\Device\Harddisk2\Partition0 appears in the rectangular box

  1. The box next to Never save history is checked.

  2. Upon clicking Mount, a menu appears on Windows secure desktop. I input the password and set KDF to Autodetection.

  3. After a few seconds, the SSD is decrypted and its contents appear in File Explorer.

  4. (in Veracrypt) Settings --> Performance and Driver Options --> Driver Configuation --> the box next to Allow TRIM command for non-system SSD partition/drive is checked.

  5. In File Explorer, I choose Local Disk (K:)

  6. I right-click on Local Disk (K:) --> Properties --> Tools --> Optimize and defragment drive --> Optimize

  7. Current status of (K:) is Optimization not available

I appreciate your help in this matter.
