  • I can not mount a Truecrypt volume from within a user account.
  • I have tried both version 1.17 and version 1 of 2.
  • I can mount the volume while in the root account
  • When I press Mount, I get a popup requesting Administrator password.
  • If I enter the user password, I get “Failed to obtain administrator privileges: Sorry, user grumpy is not allowed to execute '/usr/bin/veracrypt --core-service' as root on Planner.”
  • If I enter the root password, I get “Failed to obtain administrator privileges: Sorry, try again”
  • I am using Linux Mint 17.3 (Rosa)
  • The Truecrypt volume (to be mounted) resides on a USB drive
  • I have tried mounting on both a Linux folder and a folder on the USB drive (It is FAT32)
  • I have read through post https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/discussion/technical/thread/e7e51852/

Can anyone help with this problem?
