I think I forgot my password for a mounted volume. I tried a few ones and I am almost sure the good one is among those I tried. However the password failed every time. Thus I wondered, maybe I need to mount the volume by choosing a specific drive letter? And if I do not use the same letter I used the first time it won't work?
Note that I set up my volume by using the most default settings possible.
I am sorry if my question is stupid, I am new to VeraCrypt.
Thank you for helping me.

You can mount the VeraCrypt volume to any available drive letter. So the answer to your question is you do not have mount to the same drive letter that you previously used.

Thank you for your answer.
Then do you know if a "rainbow" method of cracking would work with VeraCrypt so that I get access again to my volume? I have memories of parts of the password that might be included in the correct password.
