Using v1.19, I've encrypted my system drive partition (not full drive) on my Windows 10 Dell XPS laptop and created and verified a recovery disk successfully. However when I boot from the recovery disk to test it and enter the password I created, it says "Verifying password" for about 3-4 minutes and finally says "Incorrect password". If I boot normally and enter the same password, it takes me into Windows after waiting only a minute. I'm not locked out at the moment, but I'm worried if I need that recovery disk, I'm hosed.
During setup I did not specify a PIM nor did I enter one when booting. The password I chose is reasonably long but it did give me a warning about choosing a "short" password when I first set it up. I'm 99% confident I entered the passwords correctly. I tried creating recovery disks twice and they both don't take my password. Any suggestions?

This is very strange, the image of the recovery disk may have been damaged when you have burned it to the removable drive, I'm not sure. If you do everything correctly, I think you'll never need the VeraCrypt recovery image, but I recommend you completely decrypt the system partition and repeat the process again and this time with a new version of VeraCrypt (if available).

Perhaps , that mean your password reset disk is invalid. it doesn't help you any more ,
You have to create a new password reset disk or use other tools to unlock your Dell laptop ,
