Yesterday I have updated my SSD firmware (pre OS-boot through USB-stick). But before this I made with the help of Clonezilla a full Harddrive image of the encrypted SSD and wanted after update restore my harddrive.
However, after the firmware update and restore the VeraCrypt bootloader did not accept my password with the error ''password or hash wrong''. Ok, I thought bootloader is destroyed and I restore it with the rescuedisk but it did not work because nothing happened after reboot with rescuedisk. No request to write my password or another stuff, only black display.
I have tried with a CD and USB-stick/drive. With EFI, with Auto, No-EFI.
EFI=black display, No-EFI & Auto=request for my password which was not accepted.
I gave it up then, installed everything new and lost all my stuff.

Why did this with the password, not working rescuedisk and black display happen and what was the problem?
I never had problems with classical iso Rescuedisk. But yeah, I also never tried to do a SSD firmware on a encrypted harddrive.
