    I'm unable to upgrade from "veracrypt-1.0f-1-setup-console-x64" to "veracrypt-1.0f-2-setup-console-x64". First, I tried upgrading directly from the executable, and after accepting the license and choosing the install option, a window error opens with the following message:

    ===========================================================
    Uninstalling Veracrypt:
    To unisntall veracrypt, please run 'veracrypt-uninstall.sh'
    ===========================================================

    I ran the uninstall command at the terminal, just to get another message telling me that the file couldn't be found. However, running the "locate veracrypt" showed the files in the system as it they were present, but if I navigated to those directories, the files weren't there.

    I proceeded to try a clean reinstalling V1.0f-1, running the uninstall script, and finally running the V1.0f-2 executable. However, I got the same results as described above.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    This is not an error, it is just a message that tells you that you can uninstall VeraCrypt using the veracrypt-uninstall.sh script.
    After the install is finished, just run veracrypt as usual.

      Mounir,
      Please read my posting carefully. I stated that upon executing the command, I get an error telling me that the uninstall file could not be found.

      If you want to know more, my original posting has all the failure details.

    Well, let's go back to basics to avoid misunderstanding and clarify things.

    First, I just installed Kubuntu 14.04 LTS and did a 1.0f-1 install followed by a 1.0f-2 upgrade using the console version and everything is OK. So, definitely, there is something else going on in your side (either a misunderstanding or a different issue).

    To help clarify things, after you accept the license you are indeed prompted with the "Uninstalling Veracrypt:" message but just below you are asked to type the password for the sudo command needed to run the installed.
    Below is a screenshot of this step where you are asked to type the password.
    Do you see this password prompt?

    After the password is entered, the install proceeds as shown by the second screenshot below. Moreover, the command veracrypt-uninstall.sh is available from Konsole.

    So, the question is, what are you doing differently? Are you using a different version of Kubuntu? Which steps are missing? I just want to help but your description is lacking information and I can't reproduce it from my side.

    Hi Mounir,

    Sorry for my delayed reply. I tried the console upgrade, and it seems to work fine. However, I'm interested in the GUI upgrade, which continues to fail. I'm attaching to this post four images that illustrate the failed install process.

    GUI1: On execution of the GUI install script, the "install" screen appears.

    GUI2: Upon clicking "Install Veracrypt", the license agreement window pops.

    GUI3: After accepting the license, the "uninstall" splash screen appears. There, the only option is "OK".

    GUI4: This is where the install process halts after clicking OK.

    This is all I have right now.

    Thanks!

    Thanks a lot, it's working now.

    When do you plan to release it on a stable version?

    The next stable release (probably 1.11 or 1.12) is planned for July.
    This KDE modification touches only the installer so it doesn't justify a dedicated version. That being said, I can create specific installer that could be downloaded by KDE users.

    Another workaround is to install xterm and use the 1.0f-2 installer.
