Hi, I would like to use VeraCrypt but I noticed something very dangerous
and I would like to understand if it is preventable...
When the volume such as a USB stick was created with VeraCrypt and I
insert it into the computer, if I try to access it without VeraCrypt
open it correctly denies me access, only to then ask me to format the
volume... I was hoping that it could not format something that I am
trying to protect and instead it does format it... consequently there is
a risk that due to lack of attention or by mistake or because or
something else the volume with important data to be protected is
completely deleted.... I see it as a rather serious thing that totally
undermines the usefulness of the program... is there a way to avoid it?
Thanks
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Either use another operating system that won't suggest to format RAW media storage, somehow configure your OS to not mention to format, or create a VC container volume on your USB instead encrypting the entire device.
To be clear, this is not a VC issue, but a thing of convenience for technical inepts. This way they can make a new RAW media storage usable without too much hassle.
