When I create a container file, VeraCrypt tells the filesystem to generate a file and when the file is finished VeraCrypt starts formating the file. This works fine with small or fairly large files, but with very large files there is a problem. The File System needs some time to generate a file. Small files are generated near instantaniously, but large files take longer. This is why is can happen that when this process takes to long VeraCrypt gives an error while a few seconds later the file is ready. Unfortunately VeraCrypt now refuses to use the ready file and insists on creating a new one. This takes again to long resulting in the same error.....
Is it possible to set the timeout to a higher value or tell VeraCrypt to resume with an existing file?
Kind regards,
Gajo

I'm tryining to use the windows client to generate a file on a unix based system that's exuiped with a ext4 filesystem of about 35TB. When I create a 4TB file it's ususally still ok, but when creating a 6 or 8TB file the error occurs.
The process is about 15 seconds underway when the error occurs. In a command window I can monitor the creation of the file and I can see it grow from 0 to the disired value, just not fast enough for VeraCrypt... When VeraCrypt throws in the towel the file system continues creting the file.
I'm trying to create a container containing the NTFS file system, but because the error occurs before formating begins, I doubt that this will influence things in any way.
Unfortunately I don't have a screen shot, buy I don't remember the error having any details in it.
Kind regards.

Hello,
I think I have the same problem. I tried to create a file of 50gb and 10gb and the formatting process stops after 39.998% for the 10gb (see screenshoot) and 5% for the 50gb.
I want to create this volume on an external hard drive with more than 1tb of available space in MS-DOS format (FAT32)
I am on macOS 10.14.
Thanks for your help

Hello Gajo,
To help troubleshoot your issue, please provide the exact details of the problem.
How large is the file container you are trying to create?
Where are you creating the file container? USB external drive, secondary internal drive, system drive?
If creating on USB drive, is the power management in Windows set to "USB selective suspend setting" enabled?
Did you select FAT or NTFS for the filesystem format in VeraCrypt?
What exact error did you receive? Can you screenshot the error and post the error?
How long does the create file process run before you encounter the error?
What OS, edition of the OS and 32-bit or 64-bit are you running?
Have tried disabling your Anti-Virus? What Anti-Virus are you using?
Kind Regards.
