Hi,
I have tried to create a container , but at the end of the process, I get an error message saying that Veracrypt os enable to create the container because it did not get the administrator rights ?
If I start Veracrypt as an administrator, then I get a warning message saying that I may not be authorized to write on the future container without admnistrator privilege ...
Strange because I did not get similar messages with my previous Veracrypt usages.
What should I do ??
Thank you

Does the error message about not being able to get administrative privileges persist after clicking "Retry" button? This error message can be displayed if the user left the machine unattenteded for long time and the usual UAC prompt just timedout and in this case retrying works.
If even clicking retry doesn't work, then there is some special configuration of your account and or machine that doesn't allow application to spawn elevated processses. This mechanism works in all Windows configuration that I have seen so far provided that the user running VeraCrypt can itself perform elevation of processes. Maybe you should look for any security software on your machine that maybe blocking VeraCrypt.
As for the warning message, it just says that since the file container will be created with administrative privileges, the file itself will have access rights that will forbid non administrators from accessing it. This is standard filesystem behavior when elevated processes create files on disk. Thus, running VeraCrypt as administrator should be avoided in general and when dealing with file container in particular.

Hi Mounir,
I have just restarted the entire process, so as soon as it is finished, I will tell you if the "retry" button solves the issue. It may, because the container is a big one (300Gb) and it takes a long time to be created.
Regarding the warning message (2nd part of your reply), I agrre as I have understood the same than you.

Hi Mounir,
The second try has been successful, as usual...
Have a nice week-end,
