    Hi there,
Just had a power cut, after reboot drive mounts ok from a file on a USB drive. However I can no longer add files to or delete files from the drive. The existing files appear to be intact.
When I try to add a file I get the error 0x80071AC3 .... please run chkdsk.
I've tried that but to no avail. Is it possible to restore read/write access to the drive? There's about 7TB of data involved.
Files can be added to the host drive, so it's not that that's locked it, the problem exists only with the veracrypt mounted drive.
    Any help, much appreciated.

So it's an encrypted container? or an encrypted system? I'm talking about the problem system. Which error message do you get when chkdsk fails?

It's an encryted container. When I ran CHKdsk the first time it ran for about 30 mins and then stopped with "Unexpected error". Subsequently it just stops immediately, I think it said "Unable to run Chkdsk, please hit any key to continue" It's as though the "Drive" has been locked. All the files are there, I can access them but can no longer change the contents.

Hopefully it's not a permissions problem. Maybe you have read access but no write access? You could check that. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I can help you out, maybe @idrassi.
