I am in my standard user non-administrator account. In VeraCrypt I have the option "Exit when there are no mounted volumes" enabled.
I start VeraCrypt by clicking on a VeraCrypt volume .hc file. With no volumes mounted I go to Preferences>More Settings>Performance/Driver Configuration. I make no changes to the settings in Performance/Driver Configuration and click OK. UAC pops up and prompts for my Windows password. I enter my Windows password and click OK in the UAC prompt. I click OK in VeraCrypt's Preferences then click Exit in the main VeraCrypt window. The VeraCrypt icon is still in the system tray. I have to close VeraCrypt by right clicking its icon and selecting Exit.
If I make changes to any of the other options in "More Settings" (Language, Hot Keys...,System Encryption etc.) I do not get a UAC prompt nor is the VeraCrypt icon in my System Tray after VeraCrypt exits.
If I do not access Preferences, VeraCrypt icon is not in System Tray after VeraCrypt exits.
Why do I get a UAC prompt when I have made no changes to the settings in Performance/Driver Configuration?
When accessing the Performance/Driver Configuration settings, why is the VeraCrypt icon still in my system tray after exiting VeraCrypt, when I have checked the "Exit when there are no mounted volumes" option?
