I have an external (USB) disk with four partitions on it to separate unrelated stuff. I want to migrate this disk to a new external SSD drive which raises a few questions for me:
can I encrypt the whole drive and partition it? It looks like an encrypted disk is always connected as a single drive in Windows (with a drive letter)
if I need to create the partitions in a first step and encrypt them one by one, is there a way to enter a single password to connect all four partitions when the disk is plugged in?
Thanks for any info you can provide.

I'd really appreciate any information you can provide - either please point me to the part of the documentation where this scenario is explained or state that Veracrypt does not support what I want to do.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply., especially your answer to my first question.
I did some more investigation since my last post and found the "temporary password cache" feature which does what I was asking for in my second question. Before finding this feature, I had the impression that only pre-boot authentication passwords could be cached.
I have been using "Favorite Volumes" (with "mount when host device gets connected") for other containers for quite some time but was desparately looking for the pasword caching feature for my new disk with multiple encrypted partitions.

The answer to your first question is 'no'.
The answer to your second question is 'yes'; it's called 'Favorite Volumes', and the documentation is here: https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Favorite%20Volumes.html
